MATV Systems
MATV means Master Antenna Television. It distributes TV signals from a central source to a metropolitan area, multiple rooms, apartments, offices, hotels or facilities. BCE Systems supports MATV systems for buildings, hospitality facilities, institutions and multi-room environments.
Why a central system rather than individual receivers
One headend, one dish array and one distribution network replaces a receiver and a dish for every room. That matters for three reasons: the building keeps a single point of control over channels and content, the roofline stays clear of individual installations, and faults are resolved at the headend instead of room by room.
Where MATV is used
- Hotels, lodges and guest houses distributing television to guest rooms and public areas
- Residential apartments and compounds, including staff and mission accommodation
- Offices, boardrooms and reception areas
- Hospitals, clinics and institutional facilities
- Camps and compounds where individual installations are impractical or restricted
What BCE Systems provides
We design the headend and distribution to the building rather than to a catalogue: signal source selection, headend configuration, cabling and distribution design, amplification and level balancing, outlet provision, commissioning and handover. Where the requirement includes commercial television subscription, we advise on the licensing position before equipment is specified rather than after.

MATV, IPTV and RFoG Solutions
BCE SYSTEMS / MATV, IPTV and RFoG Solutions
Shared television distribution for hotels, apartments, campuses and facilities. MATV distributes signals from a central antenna/headend, IPTV delivers television over managed IP networks, and RFoG carries radio-frequency television signals over optical fibre. BCE designs, installs and supports the headend, distribution network and receiving equipment to suit the site.
A distribution system that fits the site
A shared headend brings incoming television services under central control. Depending on the building, content and existing infrastructure, distribution can use coaxial cabling, a managed IP network, optical fibre or a combination. We assess coverage, channel requirements and receiving devices before selecting the approach.
Three approaches to television distribution
MATV shares television signals from a central antenna and headend. IPTV carries television services over a managed IP network. RFoG — RF over Glass — transports radio-frequency signals over optical fibre, with optical receivers converting them back to RF at the receiving point.
Where these solutions are used
- Hotels, lodges and guest houses distributing television to guest rooms and public areas
- Residential apartments and compounds, including staff and mission accommodation
- Offices, boardrooms and reception areas
- Hospitals, clinics and institutional facilities
- Camps and compounds where individual installations are impractical or restricted
What BCE Systems provides
We plan the signal sources, headend and distribution network around the site. Our scope includes MATV reception and RF distribution, IPTV delivery over managed networks, and RFoG optical links; together with cabling, receiving equipment, commissioning, channel testing and handover. Content rights and subscription terms are checked for the intended use.
