Services

Managed Services

Managed services provide ongoing outsourced monitoring, management or support of systems. Rather than owning the capability to run a system day to day, an organization contracts for the outcome.

Why organizations move to a managed model

Specialist systems need specialist attention, and the volume of that attention is rarely enough to justify a full-time role. The result in most organizations is that maintenance falls to someone whose actual job is something else, and it is done when there is time. A managed service converts an unpredictable internal burden into a defined external cost with agreed response times.

What can be managed

Radio and communications systems, including fleet management and coverage assurance

Surveillance, access control and physical security systems

Cybersecurity monitoring and response: see Managed Threat Detection & Response

Broadcast and AV infrastructure

Satellite and connectivity services, including bandwidth and subscription management

What a BCE managed service includes

An agreed scope and service level, proactive monitoring where the system supports it, scheduled preventive maintenance, defined response and escalation, spares and warranty handling, reporting the organization can use, and a named point of contact. Contracts are written to what the client actually needs supported rather than to a standard package.

Frequently asked

Is this cheaper than doing it internally?
Usually, once the true internal cost is counted, the time of the person who currently absorbs it, the cost of delayed faults and the shortened equipment life that comes from deferred maintenance. Where an organization already has the capability, we will say that a managed service is not needed.
What response times can we expect?
Set in the agreement and matched to the criticality of the system. A radio network for emergency response and a meeting room AV system do not warrant the same commitment, and pricing should reflect that.
