Peacekeeping & Humanitarian

BCE Systems supports peacekeeping missions and humanitarian operations with communications, security, connectivity, broadcast and support systems. We maintain a physical presence in Somalia, at Halane in the Aden Adde International Airport zone, Mogadishu.

Why presence matters here

Remote support has limits in this sector. Equipment cannot be shipped quickly, access to sites requires accreditation, and a fault that would be a half-day inconvenience elsewhere can take weeks to resolve from another country. Having people and stock in-country changes what can realistically be committed to, and it is the reason our Somalia presence exists.

What we typically deliver

  • Satellite connectivity for camps, compounds and field locations
  • Radio and push-to-talk communications for field teams and convoy operations
  • Security systems for compounds, accommodation and controlled zones
  • Secure communications where information sensitivity or data sovereignty applies
  • Television and information distribution for accommodation and welfare facilities
  • Tracking for vehicles, assets and personnel

Designed for the conditions

Power that is not continuous, connectivity that is expensive, dust, heat, and equipment that must be maintainable by the people on site rather than only by a specialist. These constrain design more than any technical specification, and a solution that ignores them will not survive its first year.
